1890s Reflection
The 1890s was a little bit boring to play through, so I added the church to give them a reason to leave the house. The biggest challenge was taking care of the children. As toddlers they made a lot of messes because I only gave them one toy each. They can have either a horse or a cat. I also decided that during this decade, all parenting choices would be strict. This will continue until the 1950s.
I originally intended for John to only do woodworking and Mary to do some gardening. She was too busy being pregnant, cooking, taking care of kids, and cleaning to do the gardening. John's main job became the garden and he actually makes good money selling all of the vegetables. Mary also does the laundry with the washtub and clothesline, which is also time consuming.
I'm building their house as I go. It started as a one room house, but when Abigail became a child I needed a separate room for the washtub because John would leave the room when she was taking a bath. For a while, there were two bedrooms, but I recently added a third to give the boys a separate bedroom from the girls.
